‘Avengers’ But Make It Without People, only Animals – says PETA

While many groups clamor for Marvel to make an all-female Avengers film, prompted in part by the heroic scene in Avengers: Endgame where many of the female heroes of that film step forward to be recognized in a moment of dramatic resonance… still others want many of the females removed from the film, resulting in one fan-edit actually removing Captain Marvel from the film altogether. “Well,” said a spokesperson for PETA, “as long as everyone is demanding their own personally accommodated version of the ‘Avengers’ movie, where are all the animals?”

The spokesperson went on to say, “we’ve started an online petition, because of course we have, that demands a Rocket Raccoon led Avengers team that brings attention to the plight of animals.” PETA points out that Howard the Duck has already had two cameos in the MCU films, including Endgame, and also Cosmo the Spacedog who made an appearance in Guardians of the Galaxy. But we have yet to see Redwing, Captain Aardvark, Blackjack O’Hare, Nick Furry or Goose Rider get their fair due on film.”

“There are animals out there who desire representation in film and are tired of going to the theaters and only seeing humans/humanoids and the occasional tree-person on screen,” the spokesperson said. “I mean, Spider-Ham got a very brief part in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse, but was mostly relegated to comic-relief. At the end of the day, there is a lot of animal culture appropriation that goes on, with human characters appropriating the culture of animals in their attire and power-sets. We just want to see equal representation of actual animals.”
